The Music

The piece Mexico in your Senses is the work of Mexican composer and arranger Enrique Romo, and is performed by the Mexico National Symphony Orchestra. The transcription of the orchestral score was done by "il maestro" Román Díaz.

In addition to the original and/or symphonic version of this piece, a choir of 30 elements was added in 3 voices, a children's choir, an ensemble of percussion and 3 soloists (soprano, mezzo-soprano and children's voice) to achieve the definitive version of the popular piece.

The work was completed in its first version in August 2009, but it was until February 2010 that the final version of the score was presented to "il maestro" Carlos Miguel Prieto (General Director of the NSO), which approved the work (in reference to the music) and gave his consent to carry out the recording of this work. It was thanks to this and the support provided by Mr. Jacinto Vélez (Executive Director of the NSO) that a masterly and perfectly performed rendition was achieved under the baton of "il maestro" Jesús Medina in collaboration with the Mexico National Symphony Orchestra.

The recording was done in the Blas Galindo Auditorium of Mexico City’s National Center for the Arts on February 19th, 2010.
